Frank Gehry, who is known to be the most important architect of our age, is currently showing his models and sketches of his previous works, including Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Vila Olímpica Fish Sculpture in Barcelona, Serpentine Gallery Pavilion in London and Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, in the exhibition named ‘Outside the Box’ at Artistree in Hong Kong till 27 October 2011.
An audience would expect more background information on each project could be provided in the exhibition, especially when one has no architectural knowledge. It would be better if it is not just a mere display of models and sketches. With Swire Properties as the organiser of the exhibition, apparently it aims at promoting the new residential development on Stubbs Road that Gehry is currently working on. The overall exhibition is good. The book selling and the cafeteria in the last part of the exhibition venue is a good chill out area which is a plus to the exhibition.
